Below are all our new SEND system system flow charts linked to one page. Do share, send, save and suggest others you'd like to see.
We were delighted to have the chance to work with the Department for Education on these charts (we were not paid, in case you thought we were raking it in!) and yet still be able to include our own advice to prepare all your reports, list and copy them.
It would be nice to assume an Independent Supporter will do this for you but we believe that you should be you child's best advocate whoever is alongside you. Our aim is always to help show you how to achieve that.
Please do let us know what you think of these flow charts - and if you can think of others that we can make in a similar fashion.

Brilliant work.. would it be ok to share it with others at work? I work for an LEA in London. Bernadette
Thanks and yes of course, they are free to share, as long as the credit images at the top remain
Thank you to all who put in a lot of hard work drawing this up. They are proving to be helpful for me as I consider our next step in out education journey. Certainly helpful that you have included information relating to children with medical needs.
Much appreciate all the hard work and effort.
These look great. I work with children who have been or are in the process of being diagnosed with autism. The SEN process can be difficult and any information I can share with parents is helpfull.
Thank you! As a school SENCo, these are exactly what I need to do some SEN CPD with school staff to show up to date changes to SEN CoP.
You’re very welcome. Optimus have a conference in October with some great speakers. I’m also there doing one of the breakout sessions about working with parents. You can click through via the link in the left hand sidebar
Great, thanks, I will be using them in my Early Support and SEND reform workshops for parents in Herts; how far have these travelled now I wonder? Unless you already have some more flow charts in the pipe line – HPCI are also compiling a tip 10 tips and other resources for outcomes planning and meeting preparation. Perhaps we can share?
