Affiliate Advertising
Although we are volunteers, SNJ costs money to run. One small stream of revenue is from our use of interest-based Google AdSense advertisements on our website. Google uses cookies to track your web usage on our and other websites across the internet, which enables them to determine your interests. This allows Google to tailor the advertisements that you see on other websites to reflect your interests. In other words, your web use determines the Google Adsense advertisements you may see on our website. You can view, delete or add interest categories associated with your browser by visiting: https://adssettings.google.com. You can also opt out of the AdSense partner network cookie using those settings or by using the Network Advertising Initiative's multi-cookie opt-out system at: http://optout.networkadvertising.org. However, if you clear cookies from your browser, the opt-out cookie placed on your computer will also be deleted. To ensure that an opt-out is maintained in respect of a particular browser, you may wish to consider using an adblocker plugin for your browser. However, please bear in mind that showing adverts to you helps us keep SNJ online.
We also use affiliate referrals for Amazon.co.uk. These may appear in-post embedded into product links on Amazon or as part of our SNJ Recommends page or ads on our site. We make a small referral commission when you buy items via these links at no cost to yourself. We do not mark these each time but you should expect that any links to Amazon on this site will contain the referral code. We do not know what you purchased as an individual.
