An Act to reform the law relating to children; to provide for local authority services for children in need and others; to amend the law with respect to children’s homes, community homes, voluntary homes and voluntary organisations; to make provision with respect to fostering, child minding and day care for young children and adoption; and for connected purposes.
Special educational needs and parental confidence - the outcomes of the Lamb Inquiry in regards to having a stronger parental voice, a system with a greater focus on children's needs as well as a system that provides better services and what the future looks like in regards to SEN.
The Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman
We are the final stage for complaints about councils, all adult social care providers (including care homes and home care agencies) and some other organisations providing local public services. We are a free service. We investigate complaints in a fair and independent way - we do not take sides.
This fact sheet is aimed mainly at parents who are concerned that their child may have special educational needs that are not being met and may be considering making a complaint to the Ombudsman.
